At approximately 0814 hours, Collingdale Fire Company #1 and Collingdale Fire Company #2 were dispatched to 819 Bedford Avenue for a Vehicle Fire. Engine 06-1 arrived on location and found the vehicle in the driveway with the engine compartment well off with possible exposure to two houses. The crew from Engine 06-1 under the command of Chief Colin McCann (06-9) quickly put a line in service and extinguished the blaze while a crew from Engine 42 secured the battery. Fire was contained to the engine compartment but the vehicle appears to be a total loss. Fire companies were on scene for approximately an hour. There were no injuries to any firefighters nor to the owner of the vehicle. The only picture of this fire was taken from a cell phone since there was not a camera on scene so we apologize for the quality of the photo.
