Even during a time of mourning, training must go on. Members in attendance tonight stayed inside for drill and went over the ins and outs of our MSA Air packs. This was a great opportunity for the newer members to learn the different parts of an air pack, how to properly change a bottle and how to properly done an air pack. Even our more senior members refreshed their skills on the newest feature on our air packs, the bail out system as well as checked the batteries in the PASS alarms to be sure they would activate in case of an emergency. Other members in attendance took Utility 6 around the borough to be sure all hydrants were dug out from the recent snowstorms and be accessible in case of a fire emergency. Officers in charge of tonight’s drill were Captain Fran Pascal & Lieutenants Dave Seifert and Mike Boyle. Next week, the company will take a break from crew night and hold a Memorial Service in memory of our five (5) departed members from 2009.
