The firefighters from Station 06 took a crew night and did some heavy duty training in the flashover simulator. For some of the guys, this was their first experience actually seeing what conditions could be like inside a working fire. For some of the experienced guys, it was a great refresh course to remind them what could happen. After the safety talk and an explaination about what to expect, the guys all took their turns to get inside to get a close-up of some major burning. (photos by TomNardi)

Chief Engineer Joe Dolan put together a crew this Sunday to steam-clean and pressure wash the ladder on the Quint6 and give it a fresh re-greasing. The crew got together to strip all the old grease and a year's worth of dirt and gave a thorough lube job with special attention to the often neglected pulleys and cables. Starting around 09:00, the Quint was finished and back into her bay by 1:00 PM, just in time for lunch and the football game. ChEng. Dolan thanks everyone who pitched in and got the somewhat nasty job finished.

On Sunday, Station 06 held a Spaghetti Dinner featuring the gravy (yeah, GRAVY) of our own Mike Gallo and company. With the help of a very efficient staff, 06 served up about 150 dinners of spaghetti and meatballs with all the customary sides and our regular beverages. This is becoming a popular semi-annual event with our local residents and members alike, but mostly, we wish to thank our seniors for their support., Mike does offer his regrets, but if everyone knew the recipe for the gravy, then you wouldn't come out for our dinners.
Thanks to our seniors for their support.
Yummy!
Company 06 turned into Honky-Tonk 06 last Saturday evening when our own V-P Erin McGlinchey scored the CITY SLICKERS/COUNTRY KICKERS for an evening of good food, fine beverages and a night of country line dancing. Back by popular request, the Floral Hall brought in men and women of all age groups who got out on the dance floor, stomped, twirled and scooted their boots all night long. Those who came out had a great time and they all hope we can make this an annual event. If the City Slickers are up to it, We are too.
Brought to you by...
