Nice website! I thought I'd find something about my father in the archives. He was the ambulance driver from late 1940-1953. On emergency runs to the hospital, staff would always ask him if he had time to give blood since he was O+. I remember many times as a child when the alarms would sound around dinner time my Dad's chair would slide out from the kithcen table so fast when he raced to attend to the emergencies. The chair would bursh the doorframe each time that it had to be replaced at least once a year. He was always dedicated to serving the community. He died on April 8, 1953 at the age of 40 (unrelated to serving Co. #1) which shocked most of the community and members of St. Joseph's Church. I have fond memories of the fun times at the carnivals, parades, Christmas parties and the July 4th celebrations back then. |

Could anybody please tell me more about the John H. McNeile Jr that is listed on your website. My grandfather Frank McNeile used to live across the street from the fire dept but I dont know much about him. My father was also John McNeile.
