GRAND CENTENNIAL PARADE!!!

Saturday, June 3, 2006  Collingdale Fire Company #1 hosted their 100th Anniversary Parade which kicked off shortly after 12:00 noon. The members of Collingdale Fire Company #1s hard work over the past several months finally had paid off, as it came together as planned as a little over a hundred pieces of apparatus showed their support as did the hundreds to thousands members of the surrounding stations and communities of Collingdale and Aldan boroughs. The parade also included several members of the New York City Fire Department as well as several retired pieces of apparatus in which Collingdale Fire Company once had placed in service which are now owned by Collingdales own Safety Officer, George Kaiser. Special thanks goes out to Station 42 (GAP of Lancaster County ) and Station 22 (West Grove of Chester County) who showed their support by traveling a distance to both participate in the parade as well as cover Station 06 while the members savored the moments. The celebration did not end after the award ceremony as the members continued their hard work to break down the tents and assist vendors with the packaging of their equipment as the members took part in an unforgettable celebration which lasted into the late hours of the evening. Special Thanks to all the members as well as all of the participating fire companies as it made Collingdale Fire Company #1s Centennial Parade a huge success and unforgettable moment.

CENTENNIAL MAINTENANCE & RENOVATIONS

Saturday, May 27, 2006

Over the past few months, the Members of Collingdale Fire Company #1 have been spending countless hours at the Fire House preparing for our Centennial Celebration of June 3, 2006.  Much needed Maintenance and renovations was done to the exterior and interior of the Fire Company.  Exterior Projects included a New Front Facade, pouring new concrete and installing a Garden in front of the Fire House.  Interior Projects included installing new ceiling tiles throughout the fire house, painting and cleaning of the Apparatus Rooms and making a formal boardroom.  After all this work was completed, the Members of Collingdale Fire Company #1 knew that we had a Fire Company that we would be proud to showcase on June 3, 2006 to the community and the surrounding Fire Companies that would be attending our Grand Parade.  The Fire Company wishes to thank all the members that came out and put in countless hours of work to get our Fire House prepared for our 100th Anniversary Centennial Parade!

IRISH NIGHT FEATURING MISTY ISLE

Collingdale Fire Company #1's Centennial Committee kicked off their first fundraiser to publicize our Centennial Celebration June 3, 2006 at our first annual "Irish Night" featuring Misty Isle. The band came on at approximately 8:00PM and played three sets until midnight. There was a DJ so the party didn't stop while the band was on break. We had a good turnout of approximately 150 people. Meatballs, Roast Beef, and Ham along with a variety of deserts were served for dinner. A discounted cash bar was set up for everyone's drinking pleasure. Everyone seemed to have a good time for the party went an extra hour until 1:00AM. We would like to thank everyone who came out and supported Collingdale Fire Company #1's Centennial Committee.  Below are some pictures of the "Irish Night" this past Saturday featuring Misty Isle.
